View Limit: Everything you need to know
Views are more than just a metric; they're a key factor in your subscription plan. If you're confused about how views are calculated or why they don't match your other analytics, this article will provide the clarity you need. Let's dive into how views work and how you can keep track of them efficiently.
What are views?
Most Notion Widgets subscriptions have a view limit - Pricing.
A view is counted each time someone loads the page with your widget. Every time your website's or Notion page visitor opens the page with the widget, the widget loads, and it counts as one view.
- Views ≠ Clicks on the widget
- Views ≠ Unique visitors of the page
- Views ≠ Times the visitor actually sees the widget (e.g., scrolls to the widget installed at the bottom of the page)
Most Analytics tools count unique visitors, which is not the same as our views.
The number of views affects our pricing: higher website or Notion page traffic requires a more expensive plan because more views mean higher server demands.
How does view limit work?
View limit is given per month and applies to your account, not individual widgets or websites. If you have multiple widgets (e.g., two Simple Down Count widgets) or the same widget on different pages, the views add up. When loading two widgets on one page, it will count as two views.

How do I monitor my view limit?
If you exceed the view limit, the widget on your website or Notion page will get deactivated until the next refreshment date or until you upgrade to a higher plan.
Monitoring your view statistics is crucial. For that, use the Settings tab available in the top right corner of your avatar or when you reach the limit of 90% of you view limit it will appear in your navigation bar.
When you click on that progress bar icon you will get to this settings view.
Regularly monitoring your view statistics is essential to avoid interruptions in your widget service. By understanding how views are counted and keeping track of your usage, you can manage your subscription more effectively 🙌🏻
What happens if the view limit is exceeded?
If you exceed the monthly view limit, all your widgets will be temporarily disabled. A message will inform visitors that the widget is currently inactive. While the limit is in effect, the widget will not be displayed on the website or Notion page. To reactivate it, you can either upgrade your current plan or wait until the start of the next month.
